The watch is based on the stainless steel Adventure Chrono and has a number of unique touches that capture the intensity and charisma of professional ice hockey, and the powerful chemistry between NORQAIN and the NHL. These begin with a white dial, which features a bespoke “scratched ice” finish to echo the texture of the sport’s playing surface. At 9 o’clock, the white small seconds counter is framed as a “face-off” hockey circle, where play restarts after a stoppage, with a pair of rotating crossed hockey sticks serving as the small seconds hand.
Another detail is the “TIMEOUT” indication on the pulsometer scale that runs around the dial. Inspired by traditional chronograph design codes, it is intended purely as a graphic, whimsical reference to the pace and intensity of the game. It appears at the 200 mark as a symbolic reminder to catch your breath. Then, at 6 o’clock, the chronograph’s black 12 hour counter is decorated with a light grey NHL logo, a strong but subtle nod to the partnership. On the reverse, the watch features an open case back with a scratch-proof flat sapphire glass, finished with the words “LIMITED EDITION, NHL Logo, ONE of 1917” in light grey and black. The limited quantity points to the year the NHL was founded. The watch sits on a black rubber strap incorporating material from a hockey puck, completing a luxury mechanical watch design that breathes the compelling story of NORQAIN’s exciting new partnership with the NHL.
Beyond these characterful motifs, the Adventure Chrono 41mm NHL Limited Edition is flush with quality watchmaking signifiers. Inside it is NORQAIN Calibre N17, a mechanical automatic chronograph with a 62-hour power reserve that delivers the watch’s chronograph function, as well as day and date indications. The watch is water-resistant to 100 metres, has a double anti-reflective, scratch-proof, double-domed sapphire glass, a screw-down crown accented with a new sporty red lining, and a uni-directional rotating bezel. To finish, it features the signature customizable NORQAIN plate on the left case flank. The story of the Adventure Chrono 41mm NHL Limited Edition continues in the special watch box designed exclusively for it. Finished in black, on opening it reveals a flat white insert decorated in the style of an ice hockey rink. The watch sits recessed into it on the left, alongside an authentic NHL ice hockey puck.
